Publications and Reports

The Area Agency on Aging 1-B publishes several publications of interest to seniors, disabled adults, family caregivers, senior advocates and Michigan legislators. is committed to progressive and innovative service delivery that is based on the most current research and demographic information that is available. Where information is lacking, the AAA 1-B conducts studies to identify older adult needs, or implements demonstration programs to identify effective service models.

 Community Forums
Community Forums were planned in all six counties that the Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B) serves and held in five of those counties during February and March of 2013. (The Washtenaw County forum was cancelled due to weather, but community members were given other options to give their feedback.) These forums provided input from the community, which the AAA 1-B used to guide the development of its Fiscal Year 2014-16 Area Plan. This section gives a synopsis of the feedback received from all counties and also includes reports detailing the feedback received at each community forum.

ACCESS is a quarterly newspaper produced by the Area Agency on Aging 1-B and contains information of interest to seniors, disabled adults, and family caregivers. ACCESS is published in November, February, May and August.

Aging and Disability Resource Center
A copy of the Southeast Michigan Aging & Disability Resource Collaborative (SEMADRC) Emerging Application as submitted to the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging.

The Advocate
Now more than ever active advocacy is needed to educate decision makers and legislators regarding the importance of public support for senior services. The Senior Advocacy Network through the AAA 1-B keeps advocates informed about the key events requiring a united voice. Reading The Advocate will help keep you up to date on these and other important aging issues.

Annual Report
The Area Agency on Aging 1-B publishes an Annual Report at the end of each fiscal year that provides a summary of services provided and a copy of the audited financial report.

Annual Plan
The Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) indicates how federal Older Americans Act and state funds will be used to support community-based services for older adults in Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair and Washtenaw counties.

Emergency Preparedness Plans and Documents
Contains information on the AAA 1-B emegency preparedness plans, and details on how individuals to prepare for a 72 hour emergency. 72 hour plan also available in Russian, Arabic and Spanish.

Client/Participant Satisfaction Survey Results
Contains the findings of Area Agency on Aging 1-B client/participant satisfaction surveys.

Stakeholder (Provider) Satisfaction Surveys
This annual survey is used to help the AAA 1-B understand its business relationship with the members of its vendor network and assess the overall satisfaction of its vendor network members with the AAA 1-B.

Census Data
Census Data and reports that reflect the growth of the senior population in Michigan.

Reports and results of studies conducted by the Area Agency on Aging 1-B Advisory Council on issues of relevance to seniors, adults with disabilities and caregivers.
